Dear Mr. Szabolcs,
I see and I would to buy your pantograph servo decoder.
I have a nano servo with a maximum power tension of 4,2v.
If applied more than 4,2v to the servo, the servo could be destroyed!!
I saw on the decoder pictures, that your decoder have a tension regulator (LM78XX)
Can you tell me the value of this regulator? It will be possible to install a tension regulator that provide a 4.0v?
Kind regards.
Hi,
this decoder uses a 7805 voltage regulator (5V). There are two options:
1. use DCC Servo decoder (bigger version). That module has a potentiometer to regulate the voltage between 1-5V
2. wait for a few days and I will modify the circuit for your wishes.
Please let me know.
Kind regards,
Szabi
Dear Szabi
I will use the decoder for a HO scale models, and the DCC Servo decoder is too big to be inserted in a locomotive in such scale.
So, I can wait your to know every upgrade you will make to the pantograph servo decoder.
I will come back in a few days to ask about some development of it.
Thank you again and have a nice day.
Giuseppe
@peppardo11
Hi Giuseppe,
ok, I will make a modify of the decoder.
Best regards,
Szabi
Hello Szabi
may you have some news about this matter?
Kind regards.
Hi Giuseppe,
I've ordered a component that allows regulating the output voltage. It seems will arrive on Tuesday, but I will go on holiday on Sunday.
I will back to this project after the holiday. The Shop will be closed during this period.
I apologise!
Best regards,
Szabi
dear Szabi,
thank a lot for your answer...
last question: Is it possible to increase the rotation angle of the servo by modifying the software? Is it possible to increase it until you have a complete 360 ° turn? if this involves a commitment, I am willing to pay for your necessary work.
Hi Giuseppe,
sorry, I've tried to modify the firmware but can't get it works. The servo that I used just twisted. The maximum range is about 190 degree now.
Regards,
Szabi
hello Szabi,
have you had a good vacation?
So, I'm back to ask about this matter.
In waiting.
Kind regards.
Hi Giuseppe,
thank you, great but too short :)
I'm working on your project. Just need to make the PCB, test and let you know if the module will be ready.
Best regards,
Szabi
Ok I'll be waiting.
Regards
Hello Szabi,
some news?
Hi Giuseppe,
the PCB is done. If the lacquer will be dry I will continue. The module will be ready within a few days. How many pieces do you need?
Hi Szabi.
At the moment I need one piece to make a test.
I am in the process of studying to understand how to implement the servo with the pantograph.
Hi Giuseppe,
so sorry, I will need more days, the PCB that I made is faulty. I need to redesign.
I keep you updated.
Szabi
ok I will waiting.
Regards.
Hi Giuseppe,
sorry for the delay but good news finally. The prototype works well, the output voltage is 4,1V. Is it ok for you?
Szabi
Good morning Szabi,
well done.... Yes, 4.1v it's enough, the servo that I will use it's a 4.2v maximum power.
So, how we proceed now?
Hi,
I can give you an offer as it is a prototype for testing. The price is 7 EUR. If you'll be satisfied I will do a professional PCB. Its price will be as normal Pantograph Decoder, 11 EUR.
Szabi
ho Szabi,
it's ok... I will send the payment throughout PayPal...the total amount is 16 euro right?
the prototype have the same functions of the normal decoder right? The programming is the same?
please send the email address for the payment. Thank you.
Yes, all functions are the same, just there is a different voltage regulator and smaller output voltage. The price is 16€. My address is arosamia@centrum.cz.
Thank you!
Szabi
Hello Szabi
I'd already send the payment.
In waitng to receive the item.
Kind regards.
Hi Giuseppe,
I received the payment, thank you so much!
I will dispatch the module tomorrow during my lunchtime.
Best regards,
Szabi
Hi,
the module has been sent today with tracking number RL728056304IE (An Post).
